Will a filter ruin saltwater?

a wanted to get an aquarium with fish from the sea but i know they need fresh saltwater every day and i thought maybe i can get a filter to keep the water clean and fresh but my friend told me the filter will take out the salt or the the water will reck the filter.is that true?if it is give me an idea and dont say go to the beach every day to get saltwater.
