Which road racer would dominate in mtb cross country?

I would tend to lean towards a rider who does some Mtn biking in the off-season. The reason being I race Mtn bikes and here are my observations. Road racers tend to do very good when the trail is open, fairly smooth and nontechnical. Once the trail gets nasty they just don't have the skills needed to cover the rough stuff fast, not that they can't learn to do it it's just not what they do well. So my choice would be someone like Lance, Levi, or any one who does off-road races several times a year. (Simoni & Kessiakff would be good choices too.)
