Are speedos bad under board shorts?

I like the way speedos feel, but would never wear them at the public pool or beach. I dont like the way the inside netting feels and when i get out of the water while wearing shorts the board shorts stink against your body so that everyone can see what you got. I feel that this would be better for everyone.....what is the consensious of the group out there
