When my horse is running????

ok so i have noticed and ppl have told me that when im galloping on my horse his legs are stiff like he doesnt really extend them, he barrel races and is a very fast horse but i just want to know why he is like this. I do have him on joint suppl. (MSM) and i have a properly fitted saddle everything is fine.
