By way of a change from all the gerrymander mcconn questions, can i ask why?

LOL, I don't know why people plant those awful privet hedges that seemed to be the rage years ago. We got rid of ours and my bl**dy silly hubby planted little tiny conifers, oh how he curses everytime he has to get a ladder to chop those now giants!!
