Is my dog possessed by demonic beings?

My chihuahua has a tendency to stare into space, as if viewing a rift in the time/space continuum. At times he growls at thin air, as though he glimpses grotesque demonic beings attempting to cross over into our world. Could he be possessed? Should I sprinkle him with holy water, or will that convert him into a monstrous hellhound eager to spill my blood?
