Dangerous Days: The Autobiography of a Photojournalist (420 pages), and its sequel, Blades: The Autobiography of a Rescue-Helicopter Pilot (380 pages), both by J. William Turner. Realistic fiction about teens in several dramatic life and death situations set in Australia, Canada, England and California during the years 1981-1982 and 1995-2001. Each is written in four parts (about 100 pages per part) dealing with teenage, adult and social themes. Has not been made into a movie. More info in Google

Is my dog possessed by demonic beings?

My chihuahua has a tendency to stare into space, as if viewing a rift in the time/space continuum. At times he growls at thin air, as though he glimpses grotesque demonic beings attempting to cross over into our world. Could he be possessed? Should I sprinkle him with holy water, or will that convert him into a monstrous hellhound eager to spill my blood?

A few friends and I are having a very small British-themed party. So far we're planning on drinking tea, eating crumpets, and watching Dr. Who and England's version of The Office. I've also got plenty of British music. We need a few more fun activities, though. Nothing alcoholic, mind you. Basically any British cliche.

Why do societies so often see their own culture as the only correct one?

religion is subconscious. people may believe religion is a way to "spread the word of god" bla bla bla....but in reality its not. whether people know theyre doing it or not, religion is a way to make everyone be the same. people instinctively feel threatened by something different since they cannot understand it. by spreading THEIR religion, you are convincing other cultures to be like your culture and erase the unknown. considering christianity is popular with missionary work, its a way to spread western ideology. make some other culture like us, with our thinking, our way of government, etc etc. its a good way to spread power.
